What to do with an Xbox 360 broken disk drive (not guarantee)?

My Xbox 360 does not read disks it does not recognize that a disk is very present in the Xbox console.My guarantee is more, but I still have 3 years warranty for RROD where they often replace your Xbox anyway. Should I the "towel trick" to make my CPU overheating and the power so to replace my xbox RROD free? Will it work?

I would draw Xbox line and see if they can fix the problem. If it needs repair, it cost about $ 150 for them to fix it. Or you can spend an additional $ 50.00 to buy a new one.
